How to Buy a Police Scanner

Scanners give you a live feed of the public safety activity in your area, granting you the ability to hear police reports, EMS calls, firefighter activity, weather alerts, and more.

Police scanners are one of the best worst-kept secrets in the history of modern technology. A powerful means of keeping tabs on all manner of public agencies in your city, scanners are relatively simple to obtain, use, and set up.

My brother is in a care center and wants to listen to a police scanner since they are confined to their rooms. We live in Texas Galveston county, zip 77510 and 77568. I have no idea where to start. Probably hand held as he is hard or hearing. I want a good one so price is no obstacle right now
